Welcome to Craze ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you as to how we look after your personal data when you visit our website (regardless of where you visit it from) and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

02Data We Collect

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:

• Identity Data: First name, last name, username or similar identifier.
• Contact Data: Email address.
• Technical Data: Internet protocol (IP) address, login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website.
• Survey & Interview Data: Your typed answers and the conversations you have with our AI interviewer during paid surveys.
• Voice & Audio Data: If you choose to answer by voice, the audio you record so it can be transcribed into text.
• Usage Data: Information about how you use our website, products and services (e.g. transcriptions, survey responses).

03How We Use Your Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

• Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you.
• Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.
• Where we need to comply with a legal obligation.

04AI Processing & Third-Party Providers

Craze interviews are conducted by AI. To run the conversation and turn your answers into research, we send your survey answers, the conversation itself, and basic profile details (such as your school, year, and general location) to third-party AI providers. If you answer by voice, your audio is sent to a transcription provider to convert it into text. We use:

• Anthropic: Conducts the AI interview (primary provider).
• Google: Conducts the AI interview and transcribes audio (fallback provider).
• NVIDIA: Conducts the AI interview when other providers are unavailable (fallback provider).
• Deepgram: Transcribes your voice recordings into text.

These providers process your data only to deliver these features and are contractually required to protect it with safeguards equal to our own. We ask for your permission inside the app before your first interview, and your data is never used to train these providers' models without your consent.

05How We Share Data With Brands

Brands pay to host surveys on Craze and receive research insights drawn from the interviews. They see anonymized insights — aggregated trends, themes, and selected quotes attributed only to broad demographics (e.g. "junior, female") — never your name, email, or anything that identifies you personally.

06Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know.

07Third-Party Links

This website may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements.

08Children's Privacy & Age Requirement

Craze is intended only for verified college students and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. During sign-up we ask for your date of birth, and anyone indicating an age under 13 is not permitted to create an account or use the app. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
